UltraClear™ Sound Shaping capability is a technology that allows the consumer to manage the tone control across the full range of frequencies that can be delivered over telephone lines. Combined with the amplification control, the user can easily improve the clarity of a phone conversation.
Telephone lines are not a high fidelity (HiFi) transmission media. Based on a variety of external factors such as distance from the central office, cross-talk, etc., distortion can be introduced into a phone conversation and volume can be attenuated (reduced). Without the correct technology, this distortion can be made worse by only making the sound louder. For people with a hearing loss, these factors can make conversations very difficult to understand when using other telephone devices even those that are amplified.
The UltraClear™ Sound Shaping technology allows consumers to shape and amplify the conversational speech to where they can hear the conversation to the best that their hearing allows. For people that do not have hearing aids, the tone and amplification control provides them with many of the capabilities found in hearing aids and the tone and volume controls act like a hearing aid. This works well for many people with a mild to moderate hearing loss and even for people with a more severe loss.
For people with moderate to severe hearing loss and who wear hearing aids, UltraClear™ Sound Shaping allows their hearing aids to work even better. The tone and volume controls give the consumer the ability to reduce or eliminate much of the distortion that can be introduced as described above and improve the signal (good sound) to noise (bad sound) ratio of the phone conversation making it easier for their hearing aids to further shape and deliver the sound to where they can understand the conversation.
If the consumer has a t-coil capability in their hearing aid, the UltraClear™ Sound Shaping is also delivered through a powerful induction field that can be picked up by their hearing aid's t-coil.
UltraClear™ Sound Shaping technology uses top of the line components to shape the sound and reduce and eliminate distortion. It is the quality of the components used and the engineering design in the use of those components that makes the ClearSounds products so much better than other products.
Hearing loss cannot be 100% corrected by any assistive device or hearing aid. It is the nature of the problem and why ClearSounds puts effort into hearing conservation and education about hearing loss. The UltraClear™ Sound Shaping technology is a major assistance to helping people hear better. Because of the nature of hearing loss, neither ClearSounds nor any other entity can guarantee that a particular individual will be able to hear a telephone conversation with clarity.
